Transfer news LIVE: Manchester United to confirm Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal get Mkhitaryan, Liverpool & Chelsea latest Live Blog
The January transfer window is hotting up with Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool the key players.
Alexis Sanchez is set to become a Manchester United player within hours after finally agreeing a deal that will see him paid as much as £14m per year. The deal will see Henrikh Mkhitaryan head the other way after he too agreed personal terms with the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger expects the deal to go through imminently but isn't stopping there with Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bordeaux's Malcom also on his shopping list.
Liverpool need a replacement for Philippe Coutinho with Monaco's Thomas Lemar top of Jurgen Klopp's wishlist while league leaders Manchester City, fresh from being snubbed by Sanchez, want a centre-half with West Brom's Jonny Evans their No.1 choice. Chelsea are on the hunt for strikers with West Ham's Andy Carroll, Roma's Edin Dzeko and, in the latest twist, Stoke's Peter Crouch targets.
We will have all the latest news for you right here throughout the day.
1 min ago Antonio Conte wants to go back in for Tottenham’s Fernando Llorente, to finally solve Chelsea’s striking problem in this window.
The Italian wanted to bring in his former Juventus player in the summer as back-up for Alvaro Morata, only for Spurs to hijack the move late on and get the Spanish international for a £12m deal. That has come back to bite Chelsea as Morata is currently suffering a bit of a drought and back-up
Michy Batshuayi still hasn’t adapted to the manager’s system well enough to regularly start. The Belgian will be sent on loan if Conte can bring in another option.
The Italian thereby wants to test how willing Chelsea’s London rivals would be to keep the striker. West Ham United’s Andy Carroll is another player who has been looked at, but Llorente would be cheaper, and there is another reason why Conte wants him.

8 mins ago Juventus’ chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed the Serie A club is negotiating with Emre Can and promised they will do “all they can” to sign the Liverpool midfielder this summer.
Can will become a free agent when his current Anfield contract expires at the end of June and he is currently able to negotiate pre-contract terms with European clubs.
Despite Liverpool opening contract talks with Can in the summer of 2016, he is still yet to agree to renewed terms. Can's insistence on the inclusion of a buy-out clause in the deal is understood to be the sticking point.

15 mins ago Fifa’s disciplinary committee is investigating Chelsea’s signing of 25 foreign players under the age of 18.
The move is the latest step in Fifa’s investigation into whether Chelsea have broken Fifa rules in their transfers of young foreign players. If Chelsea are found to have committed serious breaches, they could face a two-window transfer ban, as
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid both served.
Fifa has strict rules stating that clubs cannot sign under-18s from foreign countries, with exemptions for parents who migrated for non-football reasons, for families who grew up near the relevant national border, and for transfers within the European Union or European Economic Area.

24 mins ago Let's take a look around the back pages, shall we? West Brom will let defender Jonny Evans leave the Hawthorns for Manchester City – as long as the price is right, the Sun reports. The paper said West Brom will expect £23.5million for the defender, who is also subject to interest from Arsenal – with boss Alan Pardew resigned to losing the 30-year-old during this transfer window. Michael Lang could be coming into the Hawthorns, according to reports in the Mail. The 26-year-old is currently at Basel, but scouts from the Baggies have been watching the Swiss international during their training camp as a potential replacement for Evans, the paper said. Newcastle are looking to bolster their squad with the loan signings of Everton's Aaron Lennon and Leicester's Islam Slimani, according to the Shields Gazette. Boss Rafa Benitez is looking at the loan market with Lennon out of contract in the summer and Slimani struggling for a game at the King Power.
34 mins ago Mino Raiola is the latest agent to enter the race to represent Dele Alli, and sources close to the Dutchman say there is a confidence they can complete the deal.
Tottenham Hotspur star is coming to an end of his representation contract with British agent Rob Segal and The Independent understands he will not renew the deal.
That development has sparked a flurry of interest from some of European football’s biggest agencies since September, for a young player viewed as potentially one of the most marketable in the world.

MANCHESTER CITY NEWS
41 mins ago Manchester City will press ahead with plans to upgrade their front-line in the summer after missing out on Alexis Sanchez this month.
City were ready to sign Sanchez from
Arsenal only for Manchester United to offer a bigger transfer fee and salary to sign the player.
But having walked away from the Sanchez deal, City are preparing to spend big at the end of the season, prioritising a new first-team winger and a centre forward for

47 mins ago Arsene Wenger is ready to offer Olivier Giroud to Borussia Dortmund in an attempt to find a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsenal are talking to Dortmund about signing the Gabonese international, for whom Dortmund initially wanted €70m. Arsenal do not want to pay that much, so they have told Dortmund that they would be willing to include the veteran France striker as part of the deal.
Giroud has been relegated to a fringe role this season by the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette, and has only started one
Premier League game. Dortmund were one of the teams who wanted Giroud last summer – along with Marseille, Besiktas and Everton – but he stayed put. Arsene Wenger ready to use Olivier Giroud to lure Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal
MANCHESTER UNITED NEWS
59 mins ago There's only one place to start, isn't there? Manchester United and Arsenal both hope that big new signings could be ready to play at the weekend, as the effective swap of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alexis Sanchez draws closer.
The fine details of Sanchez’s move to Old Trafford have been finalised, with the Chilean set to sign a contract until 2022 that will give him wages of over £400,000. United are also willing to pay agents’ fees of up to £10m that both
Manchester City and Chelsea balked at.
Among a few reasons that Arsenal favoured United’s offer over City’s was because Mkhitaryan was put forward as a potential replacement, and
Arsene Wenger believes the player can thrive at the Emirates in a way that hasn't really happened at Old Trafford.
