Monday's transfer talk

Arsenal are set to to sign Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a club record deal

Chelsea's move for Roma's Edin Dzeko appears to have stalled

Manchester City are set to announce the club record signing of Athletic Bilbao's Aymeric Laporte on Monday

The January transfer window is reaching its climax with Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool right in the thick of it.

Arsenal remain intent on adding at least one more new face before Wednesday's deadline with a deal for Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang set to go down to the wire. He could be joined at the Emirates by Jonny Evans of West Brom after Manchester City turned their attentions to Athletic Bilbao's Aymeric Laporte instead.

Manchester United finally have their hands on Alexis Sanchez but Jose Mourinho is in the market for a central midfielder and could pull the trigger before the month is out. Nice's Jean Michael Seri is his No 1 target with Valencia's Carlos Soler and Dortmund's Julian Weigl also being considered. Chelsea still want a striker but with a deal for Roma's Edin Dzeko stalling could Arsenal's Olivier Giroud be a wildcard last minute option?

We will have all the very latest for you throughout the day.

Live Updates

MANCHESTER CITY NEWS Manchester City fans could be left shocked at the prospect of losing their star striker, Sergio Aguero. The Sun reports that a possible deal may be in place to send the Argentinian back to Atletico Madrid in the summer. While it would seem unlikely boss Pep Guardiola would want to lose the 29-year-old, the Spanish club are looking for someone to team up with Diego Costa, and Atletico striker Antoine Griezmann is on City's radar – setting up a possible switch, the paper says. WEST HAM NEWS West Ham have confirmed that Diafra Sakho has moved to Rennes on a permanent basis. The 28-year-old had been linked with Crystal Palace amongst other clubs but will heads back to France. He scored 24 goals in 71 appearances for the Hammers.

Internazionale's sporting director has played down reports linking the Serie A club with a move for Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge.

Sturridge could bring his five-year long stay at Anfield to an end in the coming days as he searches for regular first-team football away from Merseyside.

The 28-year-old was left out of the matchday squad for Saturday’s 3-2 FA Cup defeat to West Bromwich Albion, amid speculation linking him with a move abroad.

Inter were considered to be Sevilla’s main rivals for the striker’s signature, but the club’s sporting director Piero Ausilio appeared to pour cold water on any interest in Sturridge over the weekend.

“I don't feel that I should cancel anyone from the list of possibilities, but in terms of the attack we have the players we are content with and can go forward like this,” he said.

ARSENAL NEWS Some more news for Arsenal fans and, according to Bild, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be announced as a Gunners player today. Yes, that's right today. They say the Gabon international has agreed personal terms to be the richest player in the club's history with Arsenal paying £55m to get him plus bonuses. That would be also be a club record eclipsing the £52m they paid for Alexandre Lacazette in the summer. It is also suggested that Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi, rather than Olivier Giroud, will be the man to replace him. We will be keeping a close eye on this one so don't touch that dial. CRYSTAL PALACE NEWS With a medical passed, all that is left to finalise Vicente Guaita's move from Getafe to Crystal Palace is agreement on when it will take place. The Daily Mail reports that talks are still ongoing on whether the 31-year-old will join Palace for free in the summer or at the end of this January's transfer window – but with a £3.5million release clause in tow. MANCHESTER UNITED NEWS

The signing of Alexis Sanchez has freed up Manchester United’s short-term transfer plans, with midfield now the priority area.

With the Chilean having been previously been expected to go to Manchester City, the Old Trafford hierarchy had wanted a winger, a striker and a star name but Sanchez effectively ticks all those boxes and allows different potential formations in attack.

United still want the new signing’s former teammate Mesut Ozil, whose Arsenal contract is up in the summer, but it is understood he would be seeking wages of over £300,000 a week.

WATFORD NEWS Richarlison is angling for a summer move away from Watford, with his representatives holding talks with both Chelsea and Arsenal, the Watford Observer reports.
The Vicarage Road side have said he will not be leaving in January which leaves the window open to a move at the end of the season, the paper said. There are even further suggestions that the Hornets have slapped him with a £50m price tag to ward off potential suitors this month.
Malcom could be the next great Brazilian to grace the Premier League. Here's Jack Lang with the definitive profile of the wonderkid Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool are all chasing.

Brighton have re-signed striker Leonardo Ulloa on loan from Leicester.

The Argentinian has agreed a return to the Amex Stadium three-and-a-half years after he left to join the Foxes.

Seagulls manager Chris Hughton said: "We're delighted to welcome Leo back to the club.

"He's scored goals at Premier League level and will further strengthen our attacking options.

"I wasn't here during his first spell at the club, but I know he was very well thought of by all concerned, including the club's supporters.

"He's achieved a great deal since he left, including winning a Premier League title, and his experience at this level will be hugely beneficial to us.

"Albion fans will know all about him; he's a physical striker that holds the ball up well, and he's capable of scoring goals, which we he hope he will continue back here."

MANCHESTER UNITED NEWS Both Manchester City and Manchester United have been linked with Fabinho, who appears to be looking for a new challenge away from Monaco, the Mirror reports. The versatile Brazilian had admitted to being "interested" in a move to a new league – but the Premier League sides could face competition from Paris Saint-Germain, the paper says. CHELSEA NEWS Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda is set for a loan move to Celtic. The Belgian winger is set to move across the border for the next 18 months in something of a coup for Brendan Rodgers. A number of clubs have been linked with the Belgian but the Hoops have got their man. LIVERPOOL NEWS After last appearing for Liverpool in May 2015, Lazar Markovic could be set for a spell at Lokomotiv Moscow. According to the Daily Mirror, the winger could move away from Anfield for the rest of the season if the Russian club are prepared to pay a loan fee and his £35,000-a-week salary. He played last season at Sporting Lisbon and Hull City. CHELSEA NEWS Cristiano Ronaldo could be making a shock return to the Premier League, according to The Sun. The paper suggest the Real Madrid star is unhappy in Spain and would be open to a potential move back to England. It is thought Manchester United's signing of Alexis Sanchez rules out a transfer to his former club and Chelsea would be the most likely target for the five-time Ballon d'Or-winner. It comes as reports suggest the Blues risk losing star midfielder Eden Hazard to Real Madrid or Paris St Germain. NEWCASTLE NEWS Bristol City's £7 million-rated left-back Joe Bryan is at the heart of a battle between Everton, Newcastle and Brighton, according to reports. The Daily Mirror says Magpies boss Rafa Benitez has been given the go-ahead to snatch the 24-year-old. MANCHESTER UNITED NEWS

Following Alexis Sanchez’s arrival, The Sun claim that Manchester United could add another Chilean to their ranks in Arturo Vidal.

The 30-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move away from Bayern Munich in recent weeks following their signing of Leon Goretzka.

Vidal was linked with Old Trafford during Louis van Gaal’s days in charge and would add depth to a shallow part of United’s squad, though Chelsea may provide competition for his signature.

MANCHESTER CITY NEWS Manchester City are pushing to sign Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred before the summer. The league leaders are looking to add a No.6 as cover for Fernandinho with Yaya Toure likely to leave at the end of the season. City fear the deal could ratchet up in price and want it done before the World Cup. MANCHESTER UNITED NEWS

Despite Jose Mourinho’s insistence that “nobody is leaving and nobody is coming” in the final days of the transfer window at Manchester United, reports on Monday suggest Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly nearing the exit door.

According to ESPN, Los Angeles Galaxy are ready to take the 36-year-old striker away from Old Trafford, even though Ibrahimovic has struggled to fully recover from a serious knee ligament injury sustained last year.

Ibrahimovic has not featured for United since a disappointing display against Burnley on Boxing Day and the capture of Alexis Sanchez in the weeks since means that the Swede is no longer Mourinho’s main alternative to Romelu Lukaku up front.

Hull's Jarrod Bowen appears to be in high demand from a number of Premier League clubs. It comes after his impressive performance in the FA Cup win against Nottingham Forest, with scouts from Everton, Newcastle, Brighton and Burnley all said to have been at the KCOM Stadium over the weekend, the Mail says. But Hull captain David Marshall is reported to have a few words of advice for the attacking midfielder, suggesting a move now would "not be the right time". It remains to be seen whether the 21-year-old will heed the warning and continue with the Championship club until the end of his contract in 2020. ARSENAL NEWS Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund to Arsenal looks near to completion, according to several reports. The Daily Mail says the deal looks set to go through after the Gunners moved close to the £60million price tag. Once the deal is finalised, it is thought Arsenal's Olivier Giroud will move to Chelsea – should the £35million asking price be agreed upon. ARSENAL NEWS

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to make his Arsenal debut in Tuesday night's Premier League clash at Swansea.

The Armenia international joined from Manchester United in exchange for Alexis Sanchez last week and is expected to feature at the Liberty Stadium.

The Gunners are also boosted by the return of Olivier Giroud following a hamstring injury but fellow forward Danny Welbeck (hip) is still missing, as is Santi Cazorla (Achilles).
